The Expressing Room

BBC Radio 4 went behind the closed doors of the Expressing Room in the Neonatal Unit at Evelina London Children's Hospital.

The private space is where mothers go to express milk for their premature babies, many of whom require long stays in hospital. While expressing, mothers often share their hopes and fears.

Dr Hammad Khan, consultant neonatologist at Evelina London, spoke about the level of care premature babies receive on the unit.
