In this month’s e-GiST you can read an amazing story about how a pregnant woman with a kidney tumour made a full recovery.

The urology and maternity teams worked closely together to ensure Susan O’Flanagan and her baby, Archie, received the best possible care.

You can also find out about the launch of Guy's and St Thomas' Healthcare Alliance, and how Evelina London Children’s Hospital is helping young patients overcome their fear of an MRI scan by installing a rocket-shaped MRI simulator.

The pioneering machine, which is the first in the UK, helps our play specialists prepare young children for their real scan so they do not require a general anaesthetic.

Our staff survey results have also given us a lot to be positive about, and I am very proud to be part of one of the most engaged and motivated workforces in the NHS.

I hope you enjoy April’s edition of e-GiST.
