Rocket MRI simulator helps children
A rocket-shaped MRI simulator is being used at Evelina London Children’s Hospital in a UK first.
The innovative machine is helping young patients to overcome their fears about having a real MRI scan, reducing the need for a general anaesthetic.
Within its first month of use, the simulator helped 19 children avoid having an anaesthetic. Miriam Kearley, imaging play specialist, says it's important young patients “feel in control and prepared”.
