Out-of-hours cancer helpline

Guy’s and St Thomas’ and Macmillan Cancer Support have launched a new helpline for cancer patients across south-east London.

The Acute Oncology Service (AOS) helpline provides advice and support to patients and carers worried about their symptoms and treatment. It means they can contact a senior nurse at night and on weekends for guidance and reassurance.

The service has been developed with patients who highlighted the difficulties they faced getting clinical advice out of hours. The Macmillan Acute Oncology out-of-hours service number is 020 7188 3754.
