First patient receives blood plasma treatment

Blood plasma from patients who have recovered from COVID-19 is being tested as a potential treatment for those still suffering from the disease.

BBC News spoke to Ann Kitchen, a patient at St Thomas’ Hospital, who was the first person in the UK to get the treatment.

Speaking about why she agreed to the clinical trial, Ann said: "I just felt it was the right thing. Someone has to start doing it. And if it's going to help other people. I just felt it was right."
