Pioneering surgery involves doctor in USA

The Sunday Times, Sun online and Sky News reported on an operation at Guy’s Hospital aided by a surgeon in Seattle.

Consultant urological surgeon Archie Fernando led the robot-assisted procedure with help from Dr Jim Porter, who was 4,700 miles away. This was possible thanks to a platform, Proximie, which allows experts to provide remote assistance to medical teams.

During the surgery patient Mo Tajer successfully had a tumour removed and says he is now feeling stronger by the day.
